First, there was Starlight…until producer Quincy Jones and Michael reworked it, and song writer Rod Temperton renamed it Thriller. These original lyrics give me chills. They reflect social commentary much more than the finally accepted Thriller lyrics do.

I agree, he was a wonderful performer. It is a shame that he was unjustly shaken up while he shook up the world with his artistic genius and brotherly L.O.V.E.
Its weird to see these lyrics, knowing what part is supposed to be ‘this’, and what part is supposed to be ‘that’. I remember telling somebody I know that they were originally gonna call it starlight, and she said ‘REALLY? Man, it wouldn’t have been cool if he called it THAT”. It was kinda funny, but it wouldve been a hit either way, I think…. Anybody hear want a Captain EO poster? I want one of those really bad (haha BAD- MJ pun)…..
